Call of Duty: Black Ops II' confirmed, gets release date

 Call of Duty: Black Ops II has been outed as the next entry in Activision's military shooter series.
 The long-rumoured game came to light when an image of a Target pre-order card surfaced over on 
IGN, confirming its release date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 13, following an unveiling during the ad break of an NBA playoff match on May 1.Activision previously claimed that the title will contain "meaningful innovations". A viral YouTube video promoting the Call of Duty franchise hinted that the next entry in the series will feature future technology.Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer details were allegedly revealed in a leaked report last month. The game will reportedly feature a brand new mode called Escort, and contain a new perks system and a fully integrated Elite mode.

 Call of Duty's upcoming instalment will be unveiled next week, Activision has confirmed.
 Widely expected to be a follow-up to Call of Duty: Black Ops, the game will be shown during the ad breaks of a basketball playoff match on May 1.

 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be announced in May, a leaked image suggests.

An image containing the phrase "Return for debriefing" was forwarded to 
Kotaku earlier today.

The date on the poster is May 2, while the font used and the links to the original narrative point towards a Black Ops announcement.

 Amazon's French siteActivisionclaims that the next release will contain "meaningful innovations".

leaked report detailing new multiplayer modes, perk systems and the game's release date were discovered last month. The title is said to launch on November 6.


Crytek Shows Off the Future of Game Graphics

  Crytek has revealed the latest update to CryENGINE 3. The update brings new DirectX 11 support, including improved tessellation, new shaders and new lighting that allow for unprecedented levels of detail. Don't believe us? It's worth noting that it will be some time before we see these improvements make their way to games, but it's certainly exciting to take a look at what the future holds.

Gamers of the '80s were in mourning this week following the news thatCommodore founder Jack Tramiel has passed away. The Polish-born entrepreneur was responsible for some of the most important home computers of all time, not least the Commodore 64. In tribute to Tramiel, we have revisited one of the best games to appear on the platform, International Karate +. 


Enemy Front World War II shooter coming in October

 Enemy Front will be scheduled for an October release, it has been revealed.

City Interactive will release the World War II shooter, which is helmed by Bodycount developer Stuart Black, on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC towards the end of the year.

Star Wars Battlefront's Walker Assault mode to be changed because it's "too tough"


The Star Wars Battlefront beta was a lot of fun, especially once I dove into the Walker Assault mode, a 40-player recreation of the Battle of Hoth. (And super-especially whenstuff like this happens.) I couldn't help but notice, however, that the Empire tended to win—a lot—and while that accurately reflects the outcome of the "real" battle in The Empire Strikes Back, quite a number of players weren't happy about it.
